"Oceanica Designs is the culmination of my lifelong passion for the sea, and wish to share the ocean's beauty through art.  Prints of marine organisms are made to showcase the wonder and beauty of marine life, while each photographic image is a captured moment in time, telling the story of the natural processes that formed and shaped the subject."

~ Leslie Reynolds Sautter

Leslie Reynolds Sautter is a marine and coastal geologist who has taught in the geology department at the College of Charleston in South Carolina (USA)  for over 25 years.  Her passion for the ocean is evident in her extensive photography and PhotoArt, much of which is used in her college courses.  She has also extended her ocean focus to use the Japanese art form of Gyotaku (pronounced gee-oh-tah-koo) to create prints of fish and other marine organisms.  We hope that you will enjoy viewing her artistic expressions of nature, and that you will simultaneously learn more about the natural beauty of our magnificent coastal and deep ocean.

Leslie is originally from Hamilton, in upstate New York and moved south for graduate school in 1982.  She has three grown children, all of who are artists, musicians, and scientists in their own right.
